Looking westward across 2nd Street along the path. An isolated path like this tends to have crime problems. There was no other nearby bicycle/pedestrian route across I-80 until a new overpass for bicyclists and pedestrians (see photos) was built nearby a few years later. Note supplies stored behind the chain-link fence under the overpass.
